All - We ALWAYS have links to things in the show notes you just have to go in and take a look at them. If we say during a show that it’ll be linked… it’ll be linked! So GO look at the links in the show notes because *I* think I’m clever with what I link.

yeah, you put them in, but there a pain in tha ass to see...

LOL. I was looking at Doug in the photo on the forums thinking it was Charlie. My bad. You all need name tags.

You could always do like you did Gary, walk over and wet on Charlie's leg. That would end the debate.

Hey now Brian….there’s no reason to go calling me “ignorant”….:D

It's okay Charlie, I'll help.

Brian, Charlie says only girls wear ponytails.

There you go, continue. I'll go get the popcorn. Just hope these two don't put on Spiderman costumes and go at it.

@Charlie: I'm not a Lost watcher, I have tried to get into to it a few times, and it never took. Mostly this is because I have become a Netflix and/or online TV watcher. I am looking forward to looking for all these references...even though I will miss most of them and not really care (I'm lazy). The ones that I am familiar with will be fun to find.

@Brian: I know what you mean...this show promises more than it delivers kinda like the X-Files did. They let you peek behind the curtain and then close it and don't show you anything or never return to a thread that you thought might be cool.

When I write my show/movie/book...It will be a lot like LOST, but with cowboys in space (or crap...its been done!).

*wearily re-scales soap box*

Brian, the story part of Lost was Damon Lindeloff's baby, and he's been onboard with the end in mind since episode 1, season 1. He's said so himself, citing specifically "Adam & Eve," the two corpses found in the cave early in the first season. We won't know who they are until the end of season six, and I personally think that's cool. Stuff that seems fluffy and "all over the place" (like Hurley discovering a van containing a corpse and a bunch of beer, then getting it working) pay off, often in dramatic and surprising ways, sometimes an episode or two later, sometimes a season or two later. I can see why this can be frustrating, but that's the nature of the series: it's about mystery.

The show is "figured out". Stories (as opposed to scripts) for the remaining 47 episodes are done. The writers compare them to jigsaw puzzle pieces, delivering answers while maintaining their WTF factor til the end. No more "groping" like some of the first two seasons, or say, last season's BSG, just lean mean storytelling. I personally am looking forward to the ride.

As a side note, what makes something a "soap opera" anyway, and why is that necessarily a bad thing? Discuss...

Alright, where's the link to this catalog? I'm listening to the show now and I feel so left out.

Though, considering the crew's reactions, maybe that's a good thing.

Nevermind, I found it. You guys really need to format this page so the links stand out. Though, the site is blocked for me at work. We'll see if my eyes survive the encounter tonight.

I disagree Charlie. Why have they had to tell it in THIS long of an arc? It seems like a lot of padding. I still stand by my soap opera comment. It's a lot of fluff with minimal payouts.

The fact that "metric craploads of stuff has happened" and it's ALL OVER THE PLACE.. that says, "We have no clue where we're going since we've lost our original guy who had the two season plan.... BUT we'll put in some cool, whiz bang stuff to keep people interested until we can figure it out."

RE: Lost. OK, I'm not going to defend the show against the "Nothing happened in 3 seasons" argument, though in my opinion metric craploads of stuff has happened, including time-travel, torture, a monster bashing the crap out of people, electromagnetic disaster, unprecedented levels of character development, as well as homages to moives (Planet of the Apes, A Clockwork Orange), literature (Lewis Carroll, Stephen King, "Watership Down", "Turn of the Screw" "Occurance at Owl Creek Bridge" etc.), philospophy (Locke, Rousseau, Bukunin, etc.), science (Hawking, Faraday), religion (Dharma, Catholicism, mysticism) and TV (Twilight Zone, Twin Peaks, and most recently Starsky and Hutch--go Hurley!). No, not much has happend. But I agree with Mike's observation: how did this show get on the air, let alone maintain some semblance of popularity? I mean, it's a show that doesn't underestimate the intelligence of the viewer, refuses to spoonfeed you the plot in conveniently-packaged, linear chunks, and is telling a dense, novel-like story in episodic TV format. And yes, there is a story, and it has an ending, and it will be reached in 47 more episodes, so no, the producers aren't "making it up as they go along."

As to the "soap opera" charge....Ummmmm..."Heroes", anyone?

I've tried to watch the first episode of Lost several times but could never make it through. It could be after watching the big whopping turd that was the series finale of Alias (and the shit story line that was MI3)that I have no faith they'll be able to make the story work.
