Sorry, can’t agree with the notion that drug use is self regulating cause it’ll kill them. Just consider in the meantime all the people that are robbed and/or murdered by drug dealers and addicts so they can get the money for their next fix.

I’m almost ashamed to be from Mississippi. In the Senator’s defense, he never expected his bill to pass. He just wanted to bring attention to Mississippi’s obesity problem. The Senator that introduced the bill is a fat guy himself. Still an idiotic bill though. Besides, it’s not like people can’t get fat by eating at home.

People are stealing money to pay for drugs now. If it was legal, then it would be much cheaper, and a lethal dose of drugs would be in the price range of just about any junky. Once the people who can’t handle it are all dead and burried, the rest of us can breath a sigh of relief and enjoy ourselves.

Eugenics is pro-active survival of the fittest. Crack, gang wars, over eaters, West Virginia inbreeding, and NASCAR wannabes are a more passive version of the same thing.
We were discussing the fact that we don’t need more Government regulation protecting idiots from themselves. What’s offensive about that?

What I find more disturbing is that you assume that crack is a black problem. Obviously that shows how much racism you feel. Personally I’ve personally known people who have used crack that are white. I’d even dated them. While socially and morally and emotionally destructive. I can still laugh at a good crack joke. The whole world needs lighten up and just learn to laugh at jokes with jokes are being told.

Hey Debbie. I concede that strictly speaking, Eugenics isn’t about race. However, the largest Eugenics project in our epoch? Nazi Germany. I was right there with you guys through the entire discussion of the over-regulation of everything in this country. I agree, particularly with everything Mike said. Lots of folks are just too damn stupid to hog oxygen. I’m a big fan of all y’all. I like ya cuz I agree with ya. That being said, for me, the term “Eugenics” combined w/ all the baggage related to crack = a racist comment in my book.
Trucker Overdrive, I think you can be funny. I dig some of your content on Deadpan and Wingin’ It. I have to take issue with your “why can’t you take a joke” attitude here, though. Crack is a black problem, brother. Around 80% of people convicted for crack possession are African American. Around 90% of convicted crack dealers are African Americans. Crack has destroyed/is destroying our inner cities, and putting more black boys and men in jail than in school. White folks smoke/snort/shoot it too. No doubt.
I think Wingin’ It is hilarious, and have been a listener since episode one. I love the show, especially the 3D iteration. It’s one of the high points of my week, and I’ll listen to the rest of this episode when I work out in the morning. I just couldn’t not say something about how the comment in question hit this loyal listener.

You realize EssBee, that just proves the justice system is racist, not crack dealers. Crackers are crackheads, too. They just don’t do as much time. And THAT can bubble up into an entirely different conversation. Let’s not go there here . . . there . . . um . . .
I’m thinking the original line was directed more towards stupid people in general. As far as I can tell, I’m about the only one of the group that’s even a little bit racist - and that’s specifically towards the illegals that are flooding our area. That way I can argue effectively with Enormous when he starts that US keeps Mexicans as slaves crap.

I don’t know Enormous specific stance. But there are many parallels they can be drawn between Mexicans of today and the black slaves of the past. Both were essentially brought here by wealthy individuals and corporations. Both had their movements and freedoms controlled. While blacks were captured in wars and raids. Mexicans have been marketed to. As far as people worrying about the makeup of our country and demographics changing. The fight is over. Caucasians have a negative birth rate. The only individual ethnic group that is really growing is the Latino population. Simply put its inevitable but they will become majority in this country within my lifetime. To that I say so what. Whites of had a good run. The one thing that concerns me is people the come in to this country and hold jobs that do not have legal status. Without legal status workers and consumers have no rights and due process. There are no safety controls or protections for these people. They are the perfect person for the corporations. They work for little and consume things for set prices. If they are wrong they cannot complain for fear of being kicked out of the country. Guest worker programs smacked of a second-class citizen in a country where we’re all supposed be equal regardless of race.
In comedy the sacred cow should always be killed first. If nothing else to the dorky expression on the high priests face. Freedom of speech is a zero-sum game. The second you say you shouldn’t make a joke about cancer, HIV, race, or a stinking pile of dead babies then you have denied freedom of speech. That does not mean that you have to find it funny. Our popular media and culture is being controlled by individuals instead of the majority. There have been portions of wingin it that I found personally offensive. But I believe wholeheartedly that pod casts are one of the last places where we have the ability to express free and clear thoughts without the FCC or focus groups. As a pod casting community we need to protect and save our last best hope of been offended.

Deb, the reason Mexicans come over here is becuase their economy was ruined by crooked politicans backed up by American businesses, so they have little option. People don’t risk their lives to cross the Rio Grande on a whim. Get rid of NAFTA, force American employers to pay a living wage, and the problem will start to solve itself.

lol! You guys aren’t gonna change my feeling about this so don’t bother. I’m a big believer in personal responsibility. Nobody forces them to sneak in illegally. There are no shackles and threats of death. Chinese immigrants, no problem. Cuban immigrants, welcome. Those people are under extreme life-threatening situations. Repeatedly sneaking into another country to make a bigger buck is not the same.
And why should the Government HERE have to do anything to improve the economy for another country? It’s called FREE MARKET. If Job A doesn’t pay enough, do something else. When Job A can’t find workers they’ll pay more. Why more Government to help a bunch of people who don’t care enough about their own country to stay there and improve IT? If all those Latinos decided to get together and take back their own country, they’d all be better off. It must be easier to sneak around and base your entire life on a lie.

F with Mexico, Mexicans become poor and desperate, and really have only one place to go, unless of coruse they just don’t feel like feeding their kids.
