    1. Shane from Sydney Says:

Mike and Brian. Let me be the first on this thread (woohoo number ONE) to say thanks. The last episode of WI3D was classy, dignified and short… everything WI3D wasn’t! ;-)

We, the long time listeners and I am certain the newbies too, will miss WI in whatever its incarnation. Thanks for the mammeries… er… memories.

      Long live FPM.

PS. Is there anyway we can blame Evo for this? ;-)

      PPS. And one last time…

      My nerves are burning
      My stomach’s churning
There’s only one thing I need
It comes in a glass or a bottle or a can
And it’s the cure that’s guaranteed

The first drink of the day!

    2. Tim From Iowa Says:

Ditto Shane, Ditto! I’ve been a fan for a couple of years and I listen at work to put off the mind numbing work that I do. This show has made me laugh, it’s made me cry (when Joe passed). I’ve loved every incarnation of WI and it will be sorely missed. It made me feel like I was invited to a serious drinking fest with geeks like me every week!

To echo (and plagerize) from Shane’s post:

      Best of luck guys!

    3. Ian From BC Says:

im sad but good luck none the less
throw all the best ofs and rare casts as you can at us!

    4. Jayson from Colorado Says:

I’ve been with Slice of Scifi since the beginning and only really been listening to Wingin’ It for a about a year. I’ve really enjoyed everything I’ve heard and can’t wait to hear the best of. Here’s my vote for hearing the LiveFire stuff as well.

    5. psionandy Says:

Thanks for everything… we (or at least I) really appreciate it. If anyone tried to take it away from me there would be trouble…

      BUT
There’s no way I could enjoy any part of the show if it was crushing any part of the team that made it.

Enjoy the extra time that you’ve got now. Enjoy not having to worry/plan/prepare/repair or recover from WI and if you could dig out that first show you mentioned that would be fun.

      Cheers

    6. thixen Says:

Urrhh not this again. Sigh, I feel like we’re moving into Podcasting Gen 2. First Geeklabel Radio, then Chuck Chat, now Wingin it?

Wow all my old favorites are all fading away. I understand completely, I recently had to cut back on my personal life as well but you will be missed.

PS I liked both the old and the new. Peace out guys.

    7. Mark W Says:

Alas, poor Winging It I hardly knew ye. I hadn’t even heard Winging It until about episode 33, and now its gone. Dammit where else am I going to get my fix of Eliza firing off double entendres? :)

    8. CarrieP Says:

What is this Live Fire thing you are speaking of? It sounds fascinating…I’d be up for listening to it, but it may need some context.

    9. Michael Mennenga Says:

@CarrieP… Check out the previous post. I spell it out in there.
I’m looking at the old Live Fire archive. I have to figure out the legality of putting these up, since they are branded with KFYI’s content and ads. Give me a couple weeks. ;-)

    10. Zhadum Says:

I would love to hear anything that the FPM crew has done over the years. Would it be possible to setup a special feed that has all the old shows in it?

Was there video of the mudders milk show(ie the penance for WASH DIES)?

Thanks for all the laughs guys.

      Zhadum in TEXAS……

    11. Allen from Texas Says:

I first heard about WI through the Signal podcast, and my first episode was the “broke-back” episode. (still one of my favorites) I’ve been hooked ever since. You’ve given me a lot of laughs since then. I’ll miss the show, but I definitely understand you point of view.
I think Zhadum has a great idea. A feed or at least a site to download all the previous incarnations would be great.
Thank you all for the laughs, the memories and contributing to the death of my liver.
      Peace out,
      Allen

    12. Rhettro Says:

      It’s been quite a ride.

      “First Drink of the Day”

      “I’ll be in my Bunk”

      “Cinema Boobies”

      “Wash dies”

      “Brokeback Dragonpage”

      “Andrea, stuck in traffic”

      “Jimmie/Alvie”

      “Mark, from Memphis”

      “The OhmyBod”

      “The Farpoint Recap”

      etc.

Congratz guys. You’ve made my morning commute fun for the last three years.

    13. Zhadum Says:

      Rhettro

You for got the most famous quote of the entire run. It cost me two speakers in the truck, but it was worth it.

      HEY ALL YOU CRAZY SONS-OF-BITCHES

    14. Rhettro Says:

There were plenty more. I’ll let everyone else fill them in. LOL

    15. Doug in Alaska Says:

Evo blew out my speakers(for which I may never find replacements, old design), but I’ll be honest. My memory is not all that great, and most of WI is something of a blur. Definite differences in colors, so to speak, between streaks, but it is a blur. Hit us with all you got Mike! I am some what familiar with the entire podcast reign(understatement? I’ll let you decide), but I have not heard anything of the kfyi stuff besides save enterprise.

Oh, and mike, you HAVE to get a first drink of the day with summer contributing. If you don’t, I’ll kill you. :)

    16. Mari from Michigan Says:

I love how you guys cancel the show just as I get an iRiver and start recording bits for WI3D. :P

Thank you – thank you for a wonderful ride.

    17. Mainframe Says:

Hey it’s been a great ride! You guys follow your passion and do what is exciting for you.

It’s not like we won’t be listening to you at “Slice of SciFi”, “Cover to Cover”, “Kick-Ass Mystic Ninjas”, “Babylon 5 Podcast”, etc.

Feel free to put any bits of “best-of” goodness on the feed that you want. And every few months if you get in the mood for a Wingin’ It; hey, go for it (or not).

    18. Indiana Jim Says:

Blame for end of Wingin’ It could possibly be traced back to Evo.

Blame for the loss of Evo… that’s a bit more fuzzy, but I don’t think you can blame Evo for the loss of himself. Uh…

    19. Bill Says:

Geeklabel…gone, Technorama….gone, Tag in the Seam…gone, now Wingin’ It…no more subtext, no more seeing if anyone makes Eliza blush or cringe, no more fun and frivolity. Damn you, Evo! (Think Homer saying “Damn you, eBay!”). Now I’m going to have empty drive space where all these fine programs should be going…it figures since I made that left turn in Albuquerque that everything good is going away and I have to wonder what’s next. Bugs Bunny was right in NOT making that turn (for those who don’t get that reference, ask your parents or grandparents).

    20. russ of lompoc Says:

Mike, you asked for highlights to replay. How about when Summer talked Dick. That was a good bit.

By the way, sad to see this go but now I may find time for the Babylon 5 podcast.

    21. Shane from Sydney Says:

      WASH DIES?!?! OMG!

Bill, “Hussan chop!” was after one of those famous left turns…

    22. tim and darcy low Says:

FYI the beer opener makes noise.

(just a tad late, but that was damn funny.)

      Tim

    23. Tosus Says:

Thanks for this show, this has made me a little less sad about the show going away. I’m glad you guys are doing what you want to do rather than what you feel you have to do.
I wish you all the best, and will be listening to your other shows all the harder now that WI3D is gone :)

    24. GaryfromJax Says:

I think this was about as nice a closer as we could hope for.

I know WI ending is probably harder for Mike than he let’s on. It takes alot of courgae to end something you created, but the time is right. The show was amazing, and means more to me than I’ll gush about here. I think it really accomplished everything Mike set out to do with it, except for that major motion picture deal.

The first drink of the day is for you Mr. Mennenga, take a bow.

    25. El Zoof Says:

      Leave Wingin’ It 3D alooooone!

Sorry… but like you said, that never got old. However, we all are, and it’s been fun… take care, all of you. Or else.

    26. Ari from Boston Says:

I’ll definitely leave a v-mail with my memories, but the first thing that comes to mind is Snakes on a mother&^$&ing TARDIS.

      :-)

    27. Dubshack Says:

In case anyone was wondering… I was holding my show for the announcement, now I’m holding it because a friend is putting the finishing touches on a song he wrote for it… I’m saving my comments for that and for the pool party.

    28. CarrieP Says:

Got it. The more the merrier, regarding content. Whatever you are able to put up.

Sorry I never made it out for the fool party though.

    29. Jayson Says:

I am sad to see the show go. I liked the loose format. It was a different taste from the rest of the shows I listen to here at Fairpoint (K.A.M.N, Dragonpage, Slice) and I felt you really got to hear diverse and bizarre perspectives in a fun way. I came away wishing I could hang out with you guys one Saturday!

Good Luck in your future endeavors.

    30. Crazy Chris Says:

i can now say i’ve listened to all the back episodes i can find and download, i loved how it started as geeky humor, slowly became geeky innuendo, regular innuendo, and finally blatent sex talk (who swallows, and who is a quitter(Eliza, did you ever get debbie to swallow?); yooper sounded experienced about how to swallow. y00p3r, got something you wanna admit?…

    31. Will The Computer Guy Says:

Thanks Mike, Brian, Tim, Debbie, Eliza, Mr. Eliza, Crazy Joe, Summer, and everyone else who showed up at the FPM studios. This show along with all the other FPM shows helped make my 1.5 hour commute to work and back not so bad. :)

Thanks for the laughs, giggles, tears, chuckles, groans, and for making me keep my fingers on the volume control when I have the windows down at a stop light :)

Y’all are the best. I’ll make sure to stop by and say HI if I ever get back through Phoenix.

“Have fun stormin’ da castle.” ;)

      Take care,
      Will

    32. gwen aka tallgrrl Says:

i’ve been listening to WI since “Wash dies!” and Slice was the first podcast i subscribed to when i got my iPod last year.
i’ll miss my Saturday morning post-workout ritual — hey Mike, check your e-mail…you were saying you wanted pictures ; )– hanging out with you crazy SOBs, but i guess now’s the time for me to actually get my arse over to the forums.
if you all ever decided to do a slice from vegas (perhaps the upcoming Star Trek convention in august?) let me know!

go forth and enjoy your weekends. you deserve ‘em.
      see ya in the forums…

    33. y00p3r Says:

Crazy: I admit that I have swallowed a lot of things, but never THAT!

I wish I would have lived in Phoenix for the entire run of WI…what a great group of friends.

So, Now I have to call and ask if I can come over??? Hell, I’ll just walk in the house with beer…if your home, it will be fun.

See ya’ll at the Fool Party!!

      y00ps

    34. Randal in Houston TX Says:

Thanks to everyone in the FPM family for producing WI in all of its incarnations. I have listened to every episode since the very beginning of DPWI and have enjoyed them all. I would enjoy hearing any other WI-related content you may have.

      Thanks for the memories…

i’ve been listening to WI since “Wash dies!”

      Wash Dies?
      damn it!

    36. eloquint Says:

After considerable thought, I’ve decided to pull the plug with this episode. I see no point in trying to cling to a show that’s now in a vegetative state. If “Wingin’ it 3D” ever chooses to return to a weekly new episode format, then I will re-subscribe, for now though I’ll let the dead lie.
